A bunch of Nomads and FatBellies will be heading North for this stunning 150-mile road ride on 24 June from the mountainous Western Lake District, through the Yorkshire Dales, across the flat Vale of York and finally the Northern Valleys of the North York Moors, finishing by the sea in Whitby - a great day's riding with well stocked food stops and good signage, starting any time between 5AM-8AM and finishing by midnight.
Alan has organised a trip for 16 riders to take part in this event, and at last count had just one place left. The cost will be around £250, including transportion to and from the event, accomodation at both ends and the entry fee for the ride.
Want even better value than that? Alan is looking for two drivers to move the minibus and van between the start and finish. If you don't want to ride and could volunteer to drive, your food and accomodation for the weekend will be free - or if you want to ride but the full distance would be too much for you, how about sharing both riding and driving with another rider?
More than half of the money will go to one of the charities that provide bicycles to help communities in Africa and some will go to a local youth cycling scheme. We'll use the rest to support members' sponsored rides.
If you plan to do something extraordinary for a good cause later this year, let us know by the end of May and we may be able to help you. For more details, click here.
We are pleased to be able to announce that we have chosen Kalas to be an additional supplier for Sussex Nomads Club Kit, after requests to have a more modern race fit oriented kit supplier. Initially Kalas kit will be orders only, but we will still continue to stock and order Gear Club kit as the standard kit, which can still be ordered on the club website.
You can see the Kalas custom catalogue here - we are able to offer most of the items in all four of our current kit colour ways, though minimum order levels for some accessories will restrict us from ordering them in small numbers.
Coming soon ... Our new website is very nearly ready for use, and you'll soon be able to order both Kalas and Gear Club kit in our sparkling new online shop. In the meantime, please use this order form Orderform3b.xlsx, and refer to this Kalas size guide in conjunction with a good old-fashioned measuring tape.
You can view and try for size at any of the evening 10's
and in Cuckfield and Burgess Hill a month before the order deadline
For those who have who are waiting for the first Kalas order, I have been given a delivery date for the the first week in June, I shall contact you all as soon as it arrives with mefor collection or delivery details.
Due to the amount of interest shown, the next planned Kalas order, will be placed on 20th June, with an expected delivery time of 5 weeks. Ordering details are in the above artical.
Gear Club kit is still available to order and from stock for those who prefer it.

As traditional as Sunday lunch! Click here for a full club run listing, and get every Sunday off to a good start.
If you're new to group riding, our Come & Try It rides, normally on the first Sunday of the month, are for you - a gentle 12-15 mile (20-25 km) ride to join the rest of the club for coffee and cake.
We always need RIDE LEADERS and LANTERNES ROUGES, especially for the slower-paced groups. If you can help by downloading the course and looking out for riders less experienced than you, please make yourself known at the start.
RIDE LEADERS click here for ways in which you can make your rides run more smoothly and be more satisfying for everyone.
